Auctioned for over US$.6.500.000  by Christies New York in December 2011, & now part of the Bulgari Heritage collection. 8 Show stopping pieces, by Bulgari, once owned by Elizabeth Taylor, are currently on show, in the “The Art of Bulgari La Dolce Vita & Beyond” at the de Youngs Fine Arts Museum in San Francisco. Also shown Elizabeth Taylor, wearing the impressive sapphire sautoir.  The Burmese “Sugarloaf” cabochon sapphire sautoir was created in 1969, & given to Elizabeth Taylor to mark her 40th birthday in 1972. Sold at the Christies New York auction for US$.5.900.000.It has been reported that Bulgari invested over US$ 20.000.000. to acquire the historic Elizabeth Taylor  jewels, at the Christies 2011 Auction, & copyright to using the period photos of Elizabeth Taylor wearing the jewels was key to the deal.
